My devotion to natural, nutritious food runs so deep that I gave up a broadcast journalism job, interviewing Broadway stars for the top local channel in New York (NY1 News), in order to move to Italy and produce segments for Slow Food International, the global movement to ensure “good, clean and fair food for all.”
Now I’m back, both in New York and on screen. In @cloverasks, I am more than a guide to natural, nutritious and affordable food in New York City. I introduce you to organic farmers, to the city’s premier fishmongers, butchers and bakers, to trustworthy food retailers and to one-of-a-kind restaurateurs, and I interview them on behalf of New Yorkers and tourists alike.
Born in NYC and raised in Greenwich Village, I have spent pretty much my life researching local food—sometimes with a camera, sometimes with an ink pen, sometimes with a fork and knife. My videos aren’t advertisements. I receive only cooperation from the proprietors I profile. My work, like the food I profile, is produced with integrity.
As part of my research, and as part of my lifestyle, I walk about ten miles a day on the streets of New York. Evenings I prepare affordable and delicious meals for my husband, a Pulitzer prize-winning journalist, and our daughter.
